Following A Passion To Help People Succeed

Nancy is a Richmond, Virginia native, and University of Maryland alumni. She joined AXA Advisors, LLC in 1999, when she turned a hobby she was passionate about, into her profession.

After receiving her MBA in Finance, Nancy began working in telecommunications. While working in 1985, she distinctly remembers thinking about her father and his interest in stocks in the 1970's. This memory inspired her to begin purchasing stocks and pursuing an avocation, which would become her career.

Following four years in telecommunications, Nancy moved to Baltimore, where she began a ten-year career with a prospering mutual fund company. The company was very small at the time and her interests grew as the 401(k) and mutual fund markets grew. At the point when the stock market crashed in 1987, Nancy was fully immersed in brokerage, mutual funds, and the 401(k) markets.

In 1990, her father passed away and she was charged with the control of his estate and accounting details; realizing first hand the extent of guidance and advice needed to effectively handle financial issues. Shortly thereafter, Nancy began pursuing the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designation, wanting to work with "real people and real issues."

After the achievement of the CFP® designation, she interviewed with many financial service companies. After much due diligence, Nancy decided that she liked the strategic direction AXA Advisors not only talked about, but also had proven. According to Nancy, "Many people I meet don't have a financial plan that takes a look at everything they want to do in life and how to get there.

Based on their individual needs, we help clients look at the big picture and create a financial plan for college, retirement...a better life." She adds, "The way I see it, the financial strategy I help you develop and stick with will help all your other plans fall into place." Nancy has always been self-motivated, and never stops thinking about her clients and how she can assist them with their financial needs.

Continuing her quest for further professional knowledge and expertise, Nancy completed the course work for a Wharton certificate in Retirement Planning in 2009.  She participates in Wharton's annual At Retirement® Forum.  Participation in this event is part of an ongoing commitment to continued education and helping individuals plan for a comfortable retirement.

Drawing from the already impressive success Nancy has achieved, the most important advice she can give to creating successful professional relationships is to "base them on trust."
